Alice “Ally” (Caldwell) Nassan of Ross Township passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 16, 2024, with her loving husband Edward “Eddie” Nassan by her side. Ally was born in North Braddock to the late John and Alice (O’Toole) Norman; cherished mother of John Caldwell; dear sister of Mary Ann (Zaracki) Costello, John (Judy) Norman and the late Patti Hetrick; adoring aunt, cousin and friend of many.
Judge Anthony Mariani married Ally and Eddie on July 27, 2006, on Mount Washington overlooking the City of Pittsburgh. A beautiful rainbow appeared over Pittsburgh while they were saying their vows they had their first wedding reception on that day at the famous Lemont Restaurant for the wedding party. They had a second reception on September 2, 2006 at the Ross Township Evergreen Community Park. Approximately three hundred family members and friends attended including the late Lieutenant Governor Catherine Baker Knoll who presented Ally and Eddie with a beautiful, framed Proclamation from the “Office of the Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor.” It was a successful reception on a rainy day that stopped raining at 3:30 pm just in time for the reception and it turned out to be a beautiful sunny late afternoon. And again, another rainbow appeared over the park.

She always had a smile on her face and loved people. She was 100 percent Irish American and loved marching in the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade every year. She traveled to Ireland six times. She just loved that beautiful country. When you asked Ally what her favorite holiday was? She always answered, “Saint Patrick’s Day!” and she passed at 11am during the St. Patrick's Day Parade.
She was loved by all and will certainly be missed by all especially, her husband Eddie who deeply loved her and took extraordinary special care of her. Ally, I love you and I will miss you and I will never forget you; you will forever be in my heart. I know you were an angel here and you will be an angel in heaven with our Lord.
