Kay Yot Obituary

In Loving Memory of Kay Yot

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, Kay Louise Yot.

Momma Kay was the devoted wife of the late William Yot, and was the heart of her family. She was a proud and loving mother to Billy (Sue), Sierra (Kevin) and Jeff (Kim). Her greatest joy was her family, and she wore the title of grandmother like a crown. She adored Melissa (Chris), BJ (Courtney), Alyssa (Bill), Kevin, Alayna — her cherished “Chickie” — and her little boy, Jason. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Callie, Jonah, William, Jaime, and little Billy, each of whom brought tremendous light to her life.

Kay was the eldest sister of thirteen siblings, a role she carried with strength and presence. As a sister, aunt, great-aunt, and friend to many, she was a steady force, a storyteller, a protector, and someone who always showed up. Her family tree is wide and deeply rooted because of her, and her friendships were just as meaningful and lasting.

Kay lived exactly how she encouraged everyone else to live. Fully, and without hesitation. She loved an evening at the casino, never passed up the chance to dance, and believed that life was meant to be experienced, not simply endured. She carried a quiet strength that sustained her through every season and had a spirit that reminded all of us to look beyond the noise and simply go out and live.

Her laughter, her boldness, and her zest for life will echo in our family forever. Though she will be deeply missed, we celebrate the legacy she leaves behind. One of love, resilience, joy, and the unwavering reminder to, "Just go out and live your life."

Family and friends are welcome to attend a visitation only at Ball Funeral Chapel, Inc., 600 Dunster Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15226, on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Kay’s life was not measured in years alone, but in the stories she created, the love she gave, and the courage with which she embraced every day. The family would like to conclude the visitation with a sharing of those memories; everyone will be welcomed to express how Kay touched their life.

She will be forever loved and forever remembered.
